What do Plumbers & Pipefitters do?
  • Measure, mark and cut holes in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes to pass through.
  • Measure, mark, cut, thread, bend, and position pipes.
  • Test pipes and lines for leaks using pressure gauges
  • Install pumps, heating and cooling systems, gas supply systems, water tanks, septic systems, water heaters, toilets, wash basins, water fire-fighting systems, irrigation systems and gutters.
  • Make and interpret basic sketches and drawings to lay out pipe systems and calculate materials required.

Join pipes using clamps, couplings, screws, bolts, cement, plastic adhesives, valves, soldering, brazing, and welding

  • Perform basic sheet metal work and metal fabrication
  • Perform basic bricklaying, plastering and concreting.
